The main components of liquid calcium zinc stabilizers include: organic acid salts of calcium and zinc, solvents and organic auxiliary heat stabilizers.
After the compound use of calcium and zinc organic acid salts, the main stabilizing mechanism is the synergistic effect of calcium and zinc organic acid salts. These zinc salts are prone to generate Lewis acid metal chlorides ZnCl2 when absorbing HCl. ZnCl2 has a strong catalytic effect on the degradation of PVC, so it promotes the dehydrochlorination of PVC, which leads to the degradation of PVC in a short time. After compounding, the catalytic effect of ZnCl2 on the degradation of PVC is restrained through the substitution reaction between calcium salt and ZnCl2, which can effectively inhibit the zinc burn, ensure the excellent early coloring performance and enhance the stability of PVC.
In addition to the general synergistic effect mentioned above, the synergistic effect of organic auxiliary heat stabilizers and primary stabilizers should also be considered when developing liquid calcium zinc stabilizers, which is also the focus of research and development of liquid calcium zinc stabilizers.
